Jelena Vranic Thomison

I have graduated from UBC with a Bachelor of arts in 1999. My most recent body of work featuring abstract landscapes of the Pacific northwest has been commissioned for private residences and businesses across Lower Mainland. I have been showing my works in art shows for the past 5 years. I see myself as an abstract artist whose focus is light and texture and how they change our perception of the world around us.
In my early career I studied oil painting, mostly portraiture. During this time, I have worked on portrait commissions for clients and have been exploring a variety of mediums.
Since 2019, my interest shifted to abstract landscape painting using cold wax and oil paints. My works have been featured in local art events and social media. The beauty of the coastal scenery never ceases to inspire me. I look forward to sharing my art with you!
