Forest for Dinner, founded in 2015 by Benjamin Patarin and Célia Auclair, specializes in foraged wild foods from Vancouver Island.
The couple’s deep appreciation for nature and extensive foraging experience inspired them to create unique, artisanal preserves. Operating from a newly created food hub, the Dock + in Port Alberni, they transform hand-picked mushrooms, berries, and spices into high-end gourmet products. Each item is a celebration of the wilderness, intended to reconnect people with the natural bounty surrounding them.
Benjamin and Célia are committed to ethical practices, focusing on areas that benefit from regeneration. They work closely with a network of foragers who share their values of environmental stewardship and community engagement. Forest for Dinner’s products not only highlight the flavors of the wild but also embody the founders’ vision of enhancing food sovereignty and promoting education about wild foods.
