Renowned ceramic artist Cathi Jefferson brings over five decades of experience in clay to her live wheel-throwing demonstration. Deeply inspired by the sacred trees of the West Coast rainforest, Cathi’s work reflects her connection to nature and its boundless energy. Since beginning her pottery journey in 1974 under mentor Herman Venema, she has refined her craft through formal training and international residencies from Montana to Japan and the UK.
A passionate educator, Cathi has taught at the University of Victoria, Emily Carr, and the Kootenay School of Art, sharing her expertise through countless workshops and demonstrations across North America, the UK, and Korea. In recognition of her outstanding contribution to Canadian craft, she received the prestigious Carter Wosk BC Creative Achievement Award for Applied Art and Design in 2010.
